Men's Grooming Guide - A Good Haircut ...
An important part of men’s grooming is a good men’s haircut. If you are like most men you
probably get your haircut at a barbershop where the barber gives you ten minutes of his time,
during which he overuses the hair clippers, reluctantly shampoos your hair (if you ask for it) and always leaves a lot of loose hairs all over. Although we invite gentleman to visit
Exclusively Men’s Barber & Spa® to experience what a haircut should be, we also encourage you
to request the below steps from your barber next time you go to a barbershop for a haircut.
|
Step 1 – Before the Hair Cut
When you go for a haircut you should first get your hair rinsed with lukewarm water.
Other than beingrelaxing this helps get rid of oils, old gel, or whatever else that is in your
hair that may obstruct a good haircut. |
Step 2 – The Haircut
After getting your hair rinsed with lukewarm water - in most cases only a scissor should
be used to cut your hair. Although many hair stylists and barbers prefer the use of hair
clippers (for its quickness and ease of use), these machines are not the best way to
get a good haircut. Hair clippers ignore all the grooves and bumps that exist on every head,
which means that some part of your hair may be longer than other parts. Therefore if your
hairstylist or barber will not use scissors for your haircut you should find one that does.
In the rare cases that you want your hair extremely short, a clipper may be used.
|
Step 3 – Post Haircut
After you are finished getting your haircut your barber or hair stylist should remove all
loose hairs from behind your ears, neck, face and shirt collar. This is a real problem with
most beauty salons as they mainly deal with women’s hair which usually does not get stuck
to skin due to their length. Finally, you should now request a scalp massaging shampoo to
calm and relax your scalp and hair follicles. Check to make sure that the shampoo being
used is all natural.
